What To Do On Your Paper Anniversary
By Ash • Jan 5th, 2008 • Category: Anniversary
The first year of marriage is often the hardest, and when you come to the end of it, you have your paper anniversary. Not everyone goes by the traditional gift list when they buy something for an anniversary, but there are still some who love to do this. It might seem like there are not a lot of paper gifts that would work well as a gift to your spouse, but if you use your imagination, you can come up with something that is really great and will be appreciated. Most think about the paper anniversary and wonder if they are supposed to get stationary for their spouse. This is an option, of course, but that is not all there is to paper. If you really think about all of the things that are made with paper, you may realize that you have more options than you thought you had. There is one thing that everyone loves to get, and it is made out of paper. Everyone loves to get money, and though it might not be very romantic, it certainly works for the paper anniversary.
There are other things that will work for the paper anniversary that people don’t consider. Some of the most fun things in life are actually put on paper. Think about what you need to get on a plane, enter a concert, or go into just about any amusement venue that you can think of. You need a ticket, and most tickets are printed on paper. You could buy your spouse a ticket for a trip, or to see our favorite performers for your paper anniversary gift. You could even write an invitation to spend an evening gazing at the stars or going for a late night picnic together on a piece of paper, and that qualifies.
If none of those things are right, or you don’t have enough money for a trip, or even a concert, there is another choice for the paper anniversary that most like to get. You can find a gift certificate from certain places that still come on paper. Though there are some that come on a gift card that looks like a credit card, there are some that are made with paper, and they work great for this occasion. If you know of your spouse’s favorite store, go there and see if they have paper gift certificates. If they do, you have found something that they will love and doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.

PS I nearly forgot I wanted to share a secret with you. This is something my partner and I do to keep the spark in our relationship. Anyone can do it and we first started doing this when we got tired of trying to come up with gift ideas. We now practice this weekly however when we first started the relationship we did it for special occassions like birthdays etc.
Lets create this for a year .. Sit down and grab 52 pieces of paper each .. they don’t have to be big just big enough to write one sentence on.
Now make sure your partner can not see what you are writing … Now write done something you would like your partner to do for you or to you …. ie …. Run a nice warm bubble bath for me and make the room as relaxing as possible… prepare a 3 course diinner, do the weekly shopping, give me a massage, take me to the cinema, take me out to a fancy restaurant, make the bed, etc etc
You can use your imagination with this, just make sure it is something you would really like …. this helps you to get in touch with yourself and to learn more about your partner as well so its a good exercise
Now grab a jar each and place your pieces of paper in it …. Now one day a week pick a piece of paper from each other jars and that is the wish you must do for your partner that week… With practice you should be able to come up with some really nice wishes … also compromise and respect each others with this …
It really does add a new level to the relationship and you will also feel special as well ![]()
